Pamela is highly skilled at strategic operational planning for threat reduction and the response to serious national security threats and incidents. She specializes in leading the development of integrated, comprehensive, multi-disciplined, and multi-jurisdictional response planning, threat and vulnerability assessment, information sharing, and integrated response training and exercises, providing 360 preparedness solutions to build capability and capacity to detect, respond to, and neutralize imminent threats and attacks to save lives. Pamela is a former Supervisory Special Agent and Manager of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). While serving the FBI for over 27 years, her key accomplishments included significant contributions to the current U.S. strategy for the response to terrorism and leading a synchronization and planning effort to integrate the government domestic terrorism response. Prior to her joining the FBI, Pamela served an Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and as a Special Agent of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

About Pamela

Ms. Pamela Piersanti has over 27 years of experience as a National Security, law enforcement, and whole community preparedness and planning professional. She recently retired from the FBI as a Unit Chief/Supervisory Special Agent after serving in the FBI’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate. She developed and led FBI national programs to build nation-wide capability to counter nuclear threats, WMD counterproliferation, and to protect critical infrastructure, including nuclear power facilities, research and test reactors, food and agriculture, and water. Ms. Piersanti was also assigned as the Chief of National Policy and Planning overseeing CBRN program management and representing the FBI at interagency policy committee (IPC) and Sub-IPC meetings chaired by the President’s NSC staff.

She substantially contributed to current national strategy, policy, and planning involving WMD, counterterrorism, critical infrastructure, and domestic resilience, often chairing interagency working groups that included the synchronization of United States domestic WMD response. She represented the FBI Director’s Office as an agency lead for the development of PPD-8, National Preparedness, Planning Frameworks and Interagency Operational Plans, and co-chaired the PreventionImminent Threat mission area. 

Prior to her headquarter assignment, Ms. Piersanti served as a Senior Resident Agent in the field for 16 years conducting investigations and responding to incidents involving WMD/CBRNE, terrorism, intelligence, violent crime, white collar crime, and fugitive matters. She was a certified police instructor, Crisis Negotiator, Assistant WMD Coordinator, and a member of the FBI’s Evidence Response Team. She responded to the centennial bombing fugitive investigation, executed an Amerithrax search warrant, and responded to the terrorist attacks of 9/11 in New York. 

She successfully gained the conviction of a defendant for crimes committed under the Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act.  She received an Agent of the Year Award for Complex Investigations by the Middle District of Florida. Prior to joining the FBI, Pamela served an Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and as a Special Agent of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives – Organized Drug Enforcement Task Force Baltimore.

Ms. Piersanti has an M.A. in Criminology – Law Enforcement Leadership in WMD from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Forensic Science/A.S. in Chemistry from the University of New Haven.
