Why I work at SummitET
Our company is small, innovative, and genuinely cares about the mission of preparing for crisis. Our leadership understands the importance of the mission space and takes care of our people. I have enough flexibility to explore my curiosity while still serving those that are responsible to protect citizens.
My work/research will make a difference in the world because
When I was a young CBRN Marine first coming on to active-duty service, I never thought a CBRN/WMD event would ever occur. My world was completely flipped upside down when we were called to respond and provide support to the Hard Senate Building Anthrax attacks of 2001. From that point, I have taken CBRN/WMD/HazMat seriously, it’s been my entire professional adult life, and while it is a very low probability of occurrence, we must continue to train for it due to its high possibility of severe consequences.
If I had the funding for my field of subject matter expertise I would
Develop an “OpenAI style” application for all hazard emergency response at all levels. Vetted, factual, and relevant data that could be provided to responders and leadership in real time during a crisis.

About Kevin
Kevin is a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Subject Matter Expert at SummitET. He specializes in CBRN/CWMD integration, emergency management, HAZMAT/Firefighting/EMS Operations, theater security cooperation, information operations/planning, curriculum design, instructional delivery, rapid crisis planning, strategy development and exercises/evaluations.
Prior to joining SummitET, Kevin served as a career CBRN Defense Officer and CWMD Planner for the United States Marine Corps; accruing over 21 years of active duty service culminating at Special Operations Command SOUTH. Kevin is a combat veteran of OIF/OEF/OIR who has also served at multiple overseas postings and shipboard assignments. His earliest deployment and an early defining event that drove him to appreciate CBRN as a young servicemember was when he was rapidly deployed to serve as one of the responders from the USMC Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF) to the “Amerithrax” of 2001.
After Kevin retired from active-duty service in 2020, Team SummitET first assigned him for duty to provide operational support and leadership to the US DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Mobile Detection Deployment Program (CWMD MDDP), where he provided direct interface and CWMD support to responders at all levels of government.
